Any ideas for those of us in totally red states with 100% trump enablers elected critters at both state & national level? (WYOMING)

The usual "call your reps" only get canned responses from them. John Barasso, e.g.

Tell us about ranchers flying you out to their farms/ranches in small planes. Appeals to me!

Jim - I hope to see the day when you use those Texas boots to kick Trump's ass. I'm 88 y.o. Will I live to see it?

So those who have purchased their $300-400 million super yachts, … is there a sales tax on those buys, and current yacht tariffs? And how about importing Oil from Venezuela, is that oil tariffed?

My question/comment centers around the right wing "Project 25". Why after all this time the left have not make a list of their own project? Obviously, this list would include basic popular and broad proposals like: Medicare for all, increasing minimum wage, decreasing the military budget, maximizing veteran benefits, public housing, taxing wealth (spare money), restoring public communication institutions, no privatization of US Postal Services, restore IRS free tax services, encourage and support state banks, enforce and strengthen environmental laws, end sanctions against third world countries: especially Cuba, create and restore reasonable immigration laws, common sense federal gun control laws, etc. This leftwing proposal is just a beginning. I suspect that the left avoids documenting a clear proposal, because they do not want to offend their funding source. Most of these proposals would certainly offend the billionaire class. Elizabeth Warren recently made that clear. I apologize for the prolixity here, but this has been on my mind for some time now.

I have noticed, on substance that AOC and Jasmine Crockett are posting more about the actions or votes they have taken in defiance of the oligarchy, while Dem senators are treating this like a campaign rally. Talking about what "we" need to do in more vague terms. Usually Senators Warren and Schiff for example leave me saying, you are a senator, DO something. It seems that those outside of the Dem power structure are the only ones with fight in them. Am I missing something?

Wait. This was yesterday? I still have a question I asked a year ago+ ago, which, though not politically relevant in the moment, is always nutritionally relevant. And who better than a former Ag Commissioner to ask: how do bakeries get away with calling bread “sourdough” when there’s no starter in the list of ingredients? If you read 10 “sourdough” labels, only about 6 - 7 actually include the essential ingredient. And you can usually tell by taste. What’s up with this?

Colleen, I got the date wrong in the email, I'm so sorry! Fixed now and sent an update.

The MOST important thing right now is to fight the Republican (& Trumpista) effort to rig the 2026 elections by federal govn't demands for voter roles from the States. IF they succeed this nation is cooked! There is no hope to respond to all the other broken pieces of our government if more of the same is in power for 3 more years. Then Trump's comment about "no more elections in the future" would be the first true thing he has ever said!! HOW do we get people to know and understand what is being done right now to rig the 2026 election??

Who are the people ICE is hiring? I know some are those DT pardoned (who had attacked the capitol) but there must be more. How much are they paid?

John M Walsh Jr's avatar

Hi: Not sure what substack is or how to use it. I hate the strong arm tactics of ICE and believe

the agent that shot Ms Good was guilty of MURDER. He drew his weapon before the car started to move. She tried to avoid him.

ICE agents should not carry, they should be accompanied by local police to handle dangerous situations. J Walsh

Who are the ICE agents? I read that some were the Jan 6 rioters that Trump pardoned. Are others from white supremacist groups? How much do they earn?

Deanna Zandt's avatar

It would seem ICE doesn't even know who they're hiring: https://www.democracynow.org/2026/1/14/laura_jedeed_ice

I hope you discuss the national debt. Trump with Republican support is running our country in the ground for sure if other nations stop buying our debt as an investment. The USA is not trustworthy or solvent as this guy keeps cutting taxes and spending like a madman. ICE, millions to name one. Joan Ragan
