About what you would expect from those corporate giants. No surprise there. So let's not sing the blues, but vote for the Blues. Democrats are far from perfect. But for them, there is at least a path forward. Republicans seem unable to work their way out of the mess they helped create, so let's leave them there. And please flood the offices of Public Citizen! They have worked for us for years and years, and thanks, Jim for reminding us.

There are no Democrats running for election to serve as our County Commissioners. So disappointed in the current system but there is only one elected County Official here who is not Republican.

Linda, that is the Republican fever dream: no Democrats running. Luckily, the picture is not the same everywhere. What y'all need is to turn WV into a swing state!

The working class can never outspend the oligarchs! We have valid issues, enact Social Security Expansion Act, Medicare for All, Everybody pays their fair share of taxes!

I am mystified by (i) why anyone would want to have more money than any person can even spend; (ii) why everyone doesn't enjoy expanding the number of people whose needs we can meet by relying on our government to gather and disperse the resources necessary for that purpose; and/or (iii) why any segment of Americans would not be proud of creating and supporting our country's systematic ways of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

There is a scientific name for it -- overweening greed.

My husband is disabled. We live on retirement checks and help our working children because they need help. My sister and nephew as well. This is ridiculous. Sure Walmart, just push your sad little way to the front of the line. I will not forget. Not a dollar more of my money...but in those little towns where they pushed out all competition...people have no choice but to use these thieves. I have supported Public Citizen for years too, thanks Jim.

Since it is the consumer who ultimately pays the cost of tariffs, the refunds should be sent to them. The treasury should mail out a check to each consumer.

The current administration is stealing everything from US that they can pass the paperwork to permit, including OUR National Parks and Federal Lands, OUR life supporting habitat on Earth. Not for sale or lease! Got Oxygen? Water for Life! See beyond the numbers of dollars to the reality of our living planet.

As usual I am glad to be a loyal Costco customer. We just returned from a trip there. The workers seem well-treated and more than a few have confirmed that they are and their pricing model always is fair.

My wife is a person of unbounded generosity and substantial resources. Her motto is the Communist Manifesto 'From each according to ability; to each according to need.'Did the USA ever adhere to that statement? Did the Commies? Did Walmart and the other plutocrats? Did Trump? Hell, no!

Public Citizen was created in1971, founded by Ralph Nader. Today, literally, we still need to serve our nation using Public Citizen's ideals and goals. A new Revolution is about to become our American challenge against those companies that work against our well being and our futures. In addition, there may become a civil war, once again, between certain American states who are diminishing our fellow citizens' voting rights. We need to avoid shopping at most of these corporate giants. We must shop local, grow our own vegetables and fruits, and stop eating out.

Boycott the greedsters. Starve the beasts.

The tariffs were already passed on to consumers is the reason I am against the refunds. It was disappointing in rumps first term that I only heard one reporter state how dumb it was to apply tariffs before trying to negotiate a trade deal. Being a news junkie I would have thought I would have heard democrats pointing out this unnecessary expense to consumers. Now in rumps second term it's even dumber that rump is breaking his own trade agreements from the first term to screw consumers out of more tariffs. Now would be a good time for democrats to point out we are exporting record amounts of oil while we are being robbed at the gas pump. I won't be holding my breath waiting for Schumer to mumble about these unnecessary costs.

Great Ray Charles reference. He nailed it.

Talking about Walmart being first in line, Mr Hightower writes, "Economists have a technical word for that process: “Stealing.”"

I guess that means I ought to call myself an economist.

When Professor Trump says "us" you know that he's referring to the ultra moneyed elite and their USA Government Officials. Life supporting habitat is reduced to a number of board feet and the corporate machine is howling for the Bill to gut the Endangered Species Act. Oh, the paperwork pecuniary purgatory! Nature is the Art of God. Life is THE Miracle on Earth! Got Oxygen? Water for Life!
