Yesterday, Hightower had the great pleasure to head over to the Luck Reunion, an annual festival of music, food and more held on Willie Nelson’s infamous Luck Ranch. It’d be enough to just attend and experience such a wonderful cross-cultural gathering, but Hightower was invited to speak on a panel discussion organized by Farm Aid and the Bread and Roses Collaborative. Shorlette Ammons, Farm Aid’s Program Director, moderated this lively discussion with Hightower and Deydra Stern of BlackGold Resourcing on the topic of the legacy of farming in Texas & beyond, and what people can learn about building movements that bring together foodies, farmers, workers, artists, and everyone.
