Ted, a Hightower Substack subscriber in New Hampshire, commented on our last Open Thread post with this intriguing and inspiring news about grassroots people in his state creating “utility democracy” to replace profiteering utility monopolies: “So far, approximately 39 towns and cities have joined or are in the process of joining the non-profit Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire, a self-governing collaboration that offers cost savings, greater access to renewable energy sources, and local control—all vs. the larger for-profit utilities.”
Here is some basic information about CPCNH from its website. We’ll be following up to provide more how-to details for you subscribers who might want to help start Community Power in your area.
