Blinded by the (mirror) light, warped up like a kook, another loony in the night. (With apologies to Mr. Springsteen)

I like your satirized lyrics! I can hear Manfred Mann’s Earth Band singing it! 🎶

Thanks, Michael. I laughed out loud.

Another killer idea from our tech geniuses. Literally. What would happen to all the plants and animals that live and thrive at night? As if dust storms and wildfires were not enough! When will they understand that more money can be made by creating clean energy and fighting climate change? Lunacy, indeed.

What can one say? What could possibly go wrong? What a bunch of morons!

Aside from the fact that human circadian rhythms are determined by light and dark, imagine the harm done to not only birds but all nocturnal animals if, in fact, we were to "light up the night." Lunacy, indeed, and shameful waste of taxpayer money that would be better spent restoring scientific research to America. Please VOTE in these midterms--all the way down ballot.

Time to start using Trump's "lunatic" description with people like Carr, Hegseth, Blanche, Miller, RFK Jr., Vance...and Trump himself.

Bet we could find a Looney Tunes character to fit each of them.

It's too late for me to start describing them as lunatics

What could go wrong with adding more solar gain to the atmosphere 🤪

Good Lord, how ignorant and arrogant indeed. You sure called it Jim.

The pejorative "hare-brained" is both too mild and libelous to bunnies

Kathy K's avatar

Oh, c’mon, Jim. You made this up as a joke, right?

It's not like there isn't already enough space junk in orbit to play dodge-em with when sending a spacecraft skyward, eh? So just because Prez numbnuts stays up all night spewing online lunacy, he wants to force the rest of us to endure 24-hour daylight????? Sheeeeeesh.

Of course they want to make the night brighter! They have to do the opposite of those night sky astronomers (Scientists! Oh no!) who want cities to use down lights so we can all enjoy the night sky.

These billionaire aholes & the racist rubes that support them are destroying the planet. And all of us

Just when one thinks the Trumpistas have sailed off the edge of 'fAT EARTH" along comes another extreme lunacy. BTW there is an opposite movement started: The International Dark Sky Association; headquarters in Tucson. Think: most of today's children have never seen a natural dark sky, full of stars, necklaced with the Milky Way; while fireflies flicker in the near-dark. This was my every night summer experience growing up in back country with true nighttime darkness. My heart aches for not being able to experience this anymore!! Ask your local government to consider at least reducing nighttime street lighting, etc.

Stupidest idea ever. And that’s saying something with the dumbest administration in history running things. It will disrupt sleep and migration patterns for wildlife. It will ruin dark skies for astronomers. It may fry birds and vegetation. It could superheat the atmosphere and supercharge Global Warming. It might encourage employers to try to work their employees longer, say 12, 18 or 24 hour shifts. It’s a half baked idea from a billionaire, or someone who wants to be one, with the help of our taxpayer dollars. I hope some adult puts a stop to this idiocy.

Time for Dumb Don’s loonies to be scalded alive, and Don to have some of his parts removed, just for fun!! The White House must have human sized dryers, give them all a ride within!

What interesting forms of punishment you are suggesting, Madame. We would happily settle for sending them all to an ICE detention facility for life, to be treated just like all the other inmates.
