I had no idea about this movement...GO MONTANA. I subscribed to the information site. Missouri, where I now live, is much like Texas...very red and the Republicans in office are fighting tooth and nail to stay in power against the pushback they are getting from the ordinary people. My straw hat is tipped to you Jim, any new ideas are worth checking into! I am old, but I will do anything to keep my daughters and grandchildren from living in this political manure.
You'll love the glaring stupidity of what MO Sen. Eric Schmitt came up with today in a Senate hearing. He meant to do a gotcha at Jack Smith, the one who brought indictments against Trump, so target of R vindictiveness. But Schmitt had team and place completely wrong; probably too arrogant to fact check. And LA Sen. Kennedy piled on with the usual middle school level grossness we've come to expect from these "leaders." All recorded live and now being reported.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, the billionaires now have their perfect straw politician. He turns out executive orders every day, lies whenever he opens his mouth, and creates a constant flow of distractions - now including self-loving ads paid for by us - all helping them do their dirty work in secret. Thanks jim, for this info, and a tip of the straw hat to Montana!
Come to think of it, {wink, wink} the scarecrow, the straw man in the Wizard of Oz, turned out to be the brainy one. Being a common man, he just wasn't sure of himself.
These people are shameless slaves to avarice and a thirst for power. They don't care about their fellows and will do just about anything to stay in power. Sadly, the obvious reality that they don't care about their fellow human beings escapes many of their political supporters, who continue to empower them to destroy America.
The Republican mantra everywhere "Cheat Like Hell". Solution - Vote them ALL out, replace them with people who WILL work FOR the people and not AGAINST the people. Then clean house, disinfect and fix all the damage they have done and make sure it does not happen again. Make those who caused the damage pay a heavy price that sends a message to them and anyone else who might try it again. (Don't buy the BS in their corrupt ads) Beware of Billionaires Buying (Republican) Politicians!
The scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz didn't have a brain. Can we extrapolate to our Congress. The "interrogation" of Jack Smith by our "Judicial" committee shows us exactly who and what they are. VOTE BLUE and get these imbiciles OUT.
Don't forget the other meaning of straw man--the logical fallacy of shifting the subject to a lesser or even irrelevant, uncontroversial point and then arguing against that. For example, say a candidate states that Trump is a convicted felon, a liar, and incompetent with ample well documented evidence in support. The opponent comes back with an attack on communism and explains in detail how communism is morally wrong, bad for Americans, and a failure...
I suspect those silk pillowcases are merely a not so well disguised form of pigs' ears. And the stuffing, along with the $1k bills, most likely contains used straw. The contents of which you ag people know when you see (or smell) it.

Light them all up!
Straw men, straw politicians - what's next, straw voters? One match and it all goes up in flames.
Come to think of it, I had better put away my fall straw hat.
A straw vote conducted nationally would show how disgusted most of us are with the current corporate plutocracy. Too bad too few pols are listening.

terrific!reporting!!
Oooh, I loved this one! Thank you, Hightower! 🤩
been a fan of Jim Hightower for years, seems he never gets tired of pissing into the wind
lots of good people with good ideas, wouldn't it be great if we could all somehow get together
and express kindness and compassion

Oh Mr. Hightower, I'm never going to look at a politician again without looking for the straw.

Dangle them all on the front door of OUR WHITE HOUSE!
Thank you, Mr. Hightower.. some of our fields are still standing: I'm going to reflect on their Straw Man potential -- since so much is going around..
Be well, rest up, and have a good week: Show Time is beginning!!
Why does trusting one of the reddest states feel wrong
