The Billionaires ARE coming for all of us - unless they are dealt with. They just see us as something to USE and ABUSE and take MONEY from and then discard. Peter Thiel has even stated that he does NOT believe in "democracy and freedom". Palantir is being used to spy on everyone, including you, to then use what they gather to further control humanity for their ends and NOT for the future of humanity! The Mad Billionaires MUST be dealt with to save humanity from their madness. "Burned By Billionaires: How Concentrated Wealth and Power are Ruining Our Lives and Planet" by Chuck Collins.

To paraphrase Oscar Wilde -- or rather stand him on his head -- "Really, if the higher orders (i.e. billionaires) don’t set us a good example, what on earth is the use of them?"

The line "more human than humans" is ridiculous, scary, hilarious, appalling, and childishly stupid. The idea of merging humans and tech bots is a prize winning level of idiocy. Can we have them committed to an asylum to protect humanity? Their billions can be used for much better things.

I think that they have their heads in the 'Cloud' and watched 'The Matrix' with Keneau Reeves too many times

Why do people keep quoting Elon Musk? Is it because he has really important ideas or because he is largely unmoored psychologically and we love the conundrum of the world's richest person being so disconnected? I say, don't give him the press!

Thank you Jim for raising awareness about these techno-lose cannons. They have raised self-delusion to heretofore unimagined heights and have absolutely no interest in any pursuit that does not directly service their enormous egos. People with this much power and influence could actually improve the world if they made that their goal. Unfortunately, their goal is realization of grandiose schemes that they have unilaterally decided, represent the future - and of course their continued absurd wealth. Check out "The End of Reality: How Four Billionaires are Selling a Fantasy Future of the Metaverse, Mars, and Crypto" by Jonathan Taplin. It profiles Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Mark Andreesen and Mark Zuckerburg, who I refer to as the four horsemen of arrested development.

The biggest reason to be against a.i. data centers is they can be used to stalk anybody who tries to stop their makers. This is an exceptional problem after doge downloaded our personal information into palantir. Another good reason to be against data centers is 90% of Earthlings don't need them in the first place.

This is what happens when people are allowed to acquire too much wealth.

Well! We won't have to die to go to hell - we'll have our own hell right here.

I am haunted by the 1920 play R.U.R. by Karel Capek. It is about robots who eventually realize that they are being exploited by humans. They basically unionize and revolt, defeating the humans. That is what AI means to me at this stage in its development.

In my opinion the crux of our current problems is the lack of understanding of life, to live, to be alive, living and God's promise of life everlasting on Earth. All that we really have is the present moment, which is always the center of eternity. Those who are so blinded by the $ signs and feel free to put millions, billions and trillions into attempting to create their uneducated vision of the future, so not based on the reality of planetary survival and how the spirit moves those who are alive and l wonder when their rude awakening from their American dream will hit.

As the current administration hands 1.4million acres of pristine naturally regenerating life supporting habitat in Alaska over to industrial development with more deadly permits ready for this Congress to sell or lease our National Parks and Federal Lands before November 2026. Got Oxygen? Water for Life !

Bombarded with corporate propaganda,it's difficult to know the truth of the future of AI.What we do not know about AI means that we need to protect the public with a "go slow" approach and a public service commission to regulate it's development with multiple failsafe safeguards.

Their schemes are so evil they almost make one want to partner with the anti-christ to RESIST.

These wack jobs holed up in their rooms next to their computers think they can play God. They have bought and sold our government. We must have public funding of elections. Lobbying and campaign donations is bribery. Nothing more.

We've seen this coming through the writings of a number of "futurists" over the past 150 years or so, and many have been optimists, e.g., Marshal McLuhan and R. Buckminster Fuller. However, more on target for today's techno-concerns and true urgencies would be Alvin and Heidi Toffler's "Future Shock," published in 1970. That's 56 years back, and we've been watching the growth of the very real onset of such techno-threats ever since. /// AI Data Centers serve, very honestly, as our Rights of Independence "Death Knell." /// Being genuinely human will soon be a thing of the past, as it clearly appears to be missing from the not-fully-human minds of these arch-enemy techno-billionaires. /// Now we must work to squash all these AI Data Centers across all our rural states. Clever how they put them there, taking their waters, electricity, and lands. And you and I fully know why they are achieving that. (What failed to develop in their immature, unfinished brains?) Our fight, and it is up to you and me, is on.

I’ve been predicting this for 25 years, I could go on and on! I told my sister in 2007 that once Musk builds his erector set near Boca Chica Beach, he will find a way to enslave humans notably ‘aliens’, to blast off to the moon or Mars and work as slave labor, to build infrastructure for colonies; she slammed on the brakes and threatened to kick me out of her car. I also told her that human beings would simply be devolved to ‘flesh biscuits’ and confined to a large warehouse, where tubes and wires would be connected to them, to simply extract knowledge and bio-DNA, to feed these new-cyborg type crearures that would take over our planet.

The terminater movie predicted this also, computers became self aware in 2028.

Thank you Jim. I done doed it and joined EFF. On a sad note, all of my treasured paper Lowdowns from the very beginning, yes, WAY back when you started, burned in the Altadena fire last year. Bwaaa!

Arthur C. Clarke predicted this in the book 2001: A Space Odessey referring to the race that created the monoliths as having transferred themselves into metal and plastic and then pure energy. It sounded kind of cool to my 11 year old brain until I look at the details and reality which is very dark. If they must, can't these AI bots go somewhere else in the galaxy that does not have biological life and chill there? And I mean chill - leave the biological beings alone!
