And now we are hearing that many of the billionaires are preparing to lay off massive numbers of their human workers and replace them with AI. Too much money in too few hands with too much power and control are driving America and the entire planet to ruin! Read "Burned By Billionaires: How Concentrated Wealth and Power are Ruining Our Lives and Planet" by Chuck Collins.

Those "geniuses" know nothing about human beings, either. That's because they are only half human themselves (if that much). Jim, this article points out the best way to deal with them: just say no. Don't buy their hype. Don't buy their stuff. But do buy from local farmers. Also, read books like the one Murray is recommending. Real information, and real intelligence, beats artificial intelligence any day. Thanks, Murray. Your last name fits!

Tell me again, does AI stand for Arrogant Ignorance? It sure seems like it. It's like the cyber version of Chutes and Ladders, only it's Escalators and Garbage Chutes...they ride to the top with very little tax-free effort, and a significant number of people get tossed down to "pull themselves up by their bootstraps" over and over. Eventually, there's no boots, much less with straps, and the economically slapped down are just supposed to know their place.

Arrogant Ignorance. I love it! A friend of mine said it should be changed to AS, for Articial Stupidity. But I like your version even more!

Good thing they went bankrupt! All that plastic production for vertical farms is made from fossil fuels, esp. natural gas (i.e., methane, a highly potent greenhouse gas) and is fueling global warming. The mechanical breakdown of plastics into nano- and micro-plastic particles, which we breathe in, have contaminated the entire world from Alps to shining seas. No water or food is free of these particles anymore and they aren't even monitored in our drinking water. The food grown on plastic would probably be more laced with nano/microplastic particles than standard agricultural products, thus hastening the many medical conditions attributed (so far) to the mounting amounts of this type of pollution. Maybe between the heat and the pollution, enough of us will die off so that hardly any agricluture is needed. Problem solved by the corporate geniuses.

Just like Trump on Covid...

DONALD TRUMP: Again, our testing is so far advanced. It's so much bigger and better than any other country that we're going to have more cases. We're always going to have more cases. And as I said, this morning, that's probably the downside of having good testing is you find a lot of cases that other countries, who don't even test, don't have. If you don't test, you don't have any cases.

Same species as in /The Best and the Brightest/ about arrogant Ivy League cabinet members and the war in Vietnam. The same logic as used by the friend of a friend, one of the subjects in the book /How the Hippies Saved Physics: Science, Counterculture, and the Quantum Revival./ In 2020, he shocked us by going pro-Trump; telling the rest of us since his IQ was so high, he knew best about government. Our anti-Trump politics were merely a function of our stupidity.

Okay, AI pushing geniuses. Let's see you breathe AI air. AI oxygen derived from AI botanicals, perfectly modeled on computers in 3D and yet... Hey, I don't know anything about agriculture, either. But I am smart enough to ask those who do.

I have always said, if there is such a thing as "artificial intelligence" then there must also be artificial stupidity. Be aware that entropy in an isolated system must always increase. So artificial intelligence, left alone, will produce artificial stupidity as the entropy of the system increases.

Public education should start by teaching children that everyone makes mistakes. The important thing is to own your mistakes and learn from them. When your mistake causes harm, say, “I am sorry, how can I make amends?”. Also teach that being really good in one area does NOT mean you are good in other areas.

With t and his thugs as role models for everything BUT this, I do not have much hope.

AI means Alarming Insanity. Nothing artificial there.

Jim--one of your best yet! And I love reading your commenters. They obviously DO have intelligence.

Right on the nose Jim as always. So illuminating and helpful. Thank God someone is engaging in critical thinking. This ability seems to be woefully absent today. It sure isn’t being done in Washington. If this administration had half a brain it would be lonesome.

I've been thinking of the "stable genius" paradigm lately -- considering that of the four leggeds in the stable, the genius may still be the male donkey....

Thanks for the use or memory to provide context for a new round of stupidity. Reminds me to keep my eyes peeled for the next one.
