Hightower is on the road again this weekend, this time visiting Madison, WI to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fighting Bob La Follette’s independent run for the presidency.
Fighting who? What?
If you’ve never heard of Robert La Follette, you’ve got a treasure trove of rabble-rousing history awaiting you in his story. And our friends at The Progressive magazine are celebrating this weekend with an exhibit at the State Historical Society, events and discussions, local tours, and a Saturday night celebration of all-things-progressive at the Barrymore Theater. That’s where Hightower will join luminaries like Bernie Sanders, John Nichols, Mandela Barnes and more to “party” back in party politics.

I am all for independents--BUT for 2024, any vote for anyone other than Biden is a vote for Trump. Yes, it is a sorry state of affairs.
My grandfather, Frank H. Miller, ran for office in the 1930s as a Progressive. The county he ran in is now one of the reddest in Wisconsin. The family is still among the few Progressives left there.
