The snake that provides the snake oil is much older than any politico alive today. Trumpkins is only the most recent graduate of the P.T Barnum School of Trickery (motto' there's a sucker born every minute). And look what it did for him! It would be wonderful to get the money out of politics, and it must start with an informed citizenry. Nothing will change until half of America's voters wake up and realize that they have been played for fools. So, Jim, thanks for being a voice in the wilderness!
We already have an overkill of this kind of stuff! What we need is to get real, and reform the way politics is run, by getting the money out of campaigns. Out neighbor to the north has achieved the goal of getting the money out, and we can, too. It will require an electorate that participates in the process, all of the time. It might even lead to tax reform, that actually makes all of us equal contributors in the upkeep of our b republic, according to what we profit by.
Bravo, Jim! Down with fakery! But, possibly, many people crave a pre-sculpted universe that resonates with their own not-so-well-defined issues. This "clarity" comes at a price. Reality be damned.
US politics today bears little resemblance to what we had prior to 1968 when 'the people' really did have pols who tried valiantly to do right for (all) 'the people.' Now we have herds of under educated that can't tell the difference between reality and fiction, spread by the likes of Fixed Noise et. al. Next is a herd of greedy pols whose only motivation is GREED. We need critical amendments to our Constitution that would enable those 'downs' to be corrected for benefit "all the people." A dream not likely to be fulfilled if the Maralago Moron is returned to the WH and destroys what remains of this 234 year old democracy, once the envy of the whirld1
Interesting. How about we get candidates who focus on honesty and sincerity and telling us things the way they are and what changes are envision!ed and realistic. Tell the us what you see and if it should be changed, one way or the other, and tell us why. We have been subjected to dog and pony shows for so long that the odor of manure now seems par for the course. A breath of fresh air would be refreshing!
"How about we give a little more honesty a try?" You got the ROI figured out on that? MSM had it figured out years ago that honesty generates no clicks.
Oh, I don't know. When you see the number of people who show up AND STAY at Trump's rally's, it looks to me like about 50% of My Fellow Americans are just plain ignorant. Vapid suits them fine.

Trump staged his first campaign announcement by paying $50 a spectator. There is a sad future for these events.
