I support The Lincoln Project. They are a group of former Republican political strategists that have left the Republican Party due to their anti democratic actions. They produce commercials and articles exposing and denouncing the actions of the MAGA crowd and promoting Democrats who are challenging them in local, state and federal elections.
My brother and I are forgoing Christmas gifts and instead donating to Doctors Without Borders USA. In light of all the casualties from the fighting in Gaza and the Ukraine, they are worthy of any money we can send their way.
Picking just one charity is tough, but I’ll try. Whenever there is a disaster almost anywhere in the world, Doctors Without Borders is often among the first groups there helping and they often already have a presence in areas of great need. Supporting local food pantries is always worthwhile. Merry Christmas!
Ditto. Planned Parenthood. I live in one of the poorer counties in Mi. PP sadly had to close the local office. Local women have to drive 60 miles to Grand Rapids. I designate my donation to be used for women from my county.
Your Dad's philosophy should make you proud. As for donations, I give to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which supplies food for many group pantries as well as individuals, the Atlanta Mission, providing housing for the homeless, and the Southern Poverty Law Center, which gives a legal voice to those who would otherwise not be able to afford one. Merry Christmas, Jim!
RIGHT ON! A wonderful message, especially for this time of year. Reminds me of the statement made by Rodney King, " Why can't we just get along?"--or words to that effect. To that I say--AMEN!
I am most proud of supporting the Sempervirens Fund. The recovery of our beloved Big Basin State Park in the Santa Cruz Mtns is a recent win. Saving our redwoods is a fine goal.
I support the Houston Food Bank. I volunteered there almost every week for about two years and loved it. They serve a very large area of Southeast Texas. They have so many programs from boxes of food for senior citizens to the Backpack Buddy program for kids, and lots more!
I support heifer, finca and other organizations that grant, animals, plants, and supplies to rural people, espedially women, to that they can create a surplus that then can empoweer them to have control ovet their lives: familiy is healthier, kids go to schooll, etc

I am supporting the Palestinian Children’s Fund. It is heartbreaking to see the loss of life of Palestinian civilians, especially Children.

EarthJustice. Because, more than ever, the Earth needs a good lawyer.

thank you for the reminder, so many people give so many little bits every day.
regarding Gaza, my heart keeps repeating "not in my name." Those are US warplanes killing children.
And I support Doctors Without Borders
Yes, I hate that my tax dollars are funding that devastation, especially the children.
I have already commented, but I honor Jim Hightower for showing us all these valuable organizations dedicated to the common good.

Human Kindness Foundation that for 50 years have been sending free books like “We’re All DoingTime” and love and support to prison inmates!
