Oh man, I was going to get something done todey. Forgetaboutit. Maybe tomorrow. You gotta post this stuff in the evening when I am already sittin on my butt! But thank you, anyway!
Oh dear. That was before I hit on it and there was Spotify. Grrr.
Great 60s song list. Just 1 criticism: I left Spotify back when Neil Young pulled his entire library from the platform ( remember Joe Rogan disinformation? ) and now have been using Tidal ever since. So Spotify is on my sh*t list.
Jim, this is such a great endeavor and the songs are flashbacks to my life, but I'd be remiss if I didn't say that there is no bigger exploiter of musicians than Spotify.
Love all of the Phil Ochs. Saw him in 1969 at San Fernando Valley State College (now Cal State Northridge) singing and encouraging students to attend the Candlelight Anti-Viet Nam-War Moratorium gathering at UCLA that evening, which I also attended.
I'm late to the party, but... So I can think of a couple more that wouldn't necessarily be included. They aren't folk. 1) The Law is for the Protection of the People by Kris Kristofferson on the Me and Bobby Magee (1966) album. And 2) War Pigs by Black Sabbath on the Paranoid (1970) album. And 3) Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood on the Welcome to the Pleasuredome (1984) album. That's my contribution.
I am a longtime subscriber. I am used to getting the article in paper form in the mail. I am blind but my assistant would read it. But now that it is online my screen reader cannot read the information to where it makes sense. Example, it reads, "graphic, graphic, button, button", which is not understood. This is because the format is not correct so that the screen reader can rea in a coherent, comprehensive manner. Let me know when this issue has been rectified.
As a long-time subscriber, you mentioned, "to keep agitating". I am agitating for the blind and the disabled to make the low down and emailed information in an accessible format. Please let me know when this has been accomplished and I can read the Low Down with the link provided without having to do extra clicks and entries.
Edwin, hi! I'm so sorry the accessibility features here on Substack are so lacking. I'm going to address this with them, and will absolutely let you know as soon as we make some headway.
Wile Bill Skye (Basinski) here. I write songs and have several original kick-ass songs to share with the members. How do I send the music and lyrics this site? I'm at billbasinski@hotmail.com. Thanks.
How about a playlist featuring today’s musicians who are writing and recording songs of social significance? Your readers will definitely relate to our music. Folk musicians Michael & Nell, Nashville Tennessee

I like TIDAL myself. Good sound quality as recommended by Prince.
Here are two additions that I feel need to be added.

Yes and Neil Young has told them to take his music off Spotify but they have not done this!
Yes. I am having trouble deciding to sign up.

For the 60's, Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire was one of the best for today's world.
