Hightower recounts the story of longtime activist John Henry Faulk’s appearance at a community meeting about an X-rated movie theater on South Congress Avenue in Austin.
John Henry Faulk was one of the greatest Americans to ever live. We certainly could use his like today. He is sorely missed as is Molly Ivins, another great American.
I was at that meeting and John Henry was fabulous! Mark Weaver was a huge pain in the ass who finally left Austin after encounters like this. Wish it worked on more of these far right wingers...

Amazing, Mark!
Didn't anyone ask why the immigrant woman followed the man around into the alley in the first place??
I was wondering something like that myself. By the way, it was "neighborhood woman" not "immigrant woman".
It didn't come up at the hearing at all. I think Mark Weaver was more focused on closing the x-rated theater than monitoring who was masturbating.
I miss reading your old newsletter, but now i get to hear you- you are a great storyteller Jim Hightower!

You are certainly right about Molly being missed. She was a wonder.
