What a wonderful story and there are so many remarkable people going the extra mile, giving the extra smile, and turning their backs on hate. Sweet! Now that's the kind of Texan us denizens of the (usually) frozen North wold love to have as friends and neighbors. The Ted Cruzes and Greg Abbots, not so much. Lake Superior is really big and really deep but we are generally too civilized to give our bad guys swimming lessons.
I see Valentine, NE is already mentioned, but there's also Loveland, CO where my Grandpa would always plan ahead and get valentine cards mailed to us kids each year. They would put stamp new poem or limerick on the envelope before mailing it out. Volunteers help out as well.
