Two years ago, we made the extremely difficult and, frankly, heartbreaking decision to stop publishing the print edition of The Hightower Lowdown, after over 20 years in the business.
As a Loyal Paid Subscriber for 20 years, we salute The Hightower Lowdown for its incredible research and progressive ideas! Who knows, had the DNC listened to Hightower's Campaign Ideas, Corporate Democrats MIGHT HAVE WON IN 2024.
I liked the print version. I was sorry to see it go after many years as a subscriber. But I got over it. As a computer sysadmin, I love the digital version. I have also done web sites and know how quickly changes, corrections, information, etc. can be done. This switch to digital makes it so much easier for you to get the word out to us quickly, rather than having to adhere to a fixed monthly schedule for the printers and post office to get your thoughts and articles to us.
Don't stop. You are a voice we listen to in this dark hour of our country being used as a private bank for billionaires and those who would undo our American Constitution (misters gates trump musk etc. I'm agin' 'em.)
You are correct about Co-Presidents Musk and Trump. Maybe throw in Bezos (the Amazon guy). But we understand that Bill Gates is one of the "good" billionaires, giving millions to charity and not messing with politics. Are we mistaken here?
I believe you are right--add to Gates Besos' ex-wife and Warren Buffet. There are some rich folks out there with good hearts. Witness Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton.
Dolly is a national treasure. For all her success, she has never forgotten her roots, and where she came from, and has done wonderful things in her home community, as well as everywhere else. She was just today-Feb 19-taking the Indiana governor to task for them not funding her literacy program. Good for her.
And despite all the trolls, she was absolutely stunning dancing with the Dallas Cowgirls last season. They're all just jealous they couldn't pull it off. I hope I'm in that good shape when I'm 77.
Thanks for your clear, empowering upbeat message. I always learn something important.
As you help people understand what's happening (and where the pressure points are), I recommend the YouTube series of lectures about On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder recorded 5 years ago (a year after the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Calm, insightful, prescient.
Hey, thanks for helping us keep our faith in America, and humanity in general! Very well done, indeed. Y'all have shown us a way to survive and believe in a better future. Don't ever give up!
I'd prefer print, but I bow to the marketplace realities. Starting this week, our local newspaper here in Cedar Rapids IA - The Gazette - moved to publishing print editions on Wed., Sat. and Sun., with the other four days being digital. Sigh ...
We need to ask everyone: republicans, democrats, independents, cats, dogs….. hold hands( paws), and stand tall for your country. That is where our power all together needs to be now. We must , if we are honest , put our country above ourselves in order to save it for our children. Impeach ,impeach, impeach now!
Do not waste breath or time on dicking around with all the law suits.
Read “Feathers of Hope” Jerry Weis. Substack fabulous activist with the recipe for action and results NOW! Not in two years. NOW.
Thank you all for knowing our power comes together when we do!👏🏻👍🌏💫🌈🦋🙏🏻🎶
I don't give a nickel to corporate America unless it's unavoidable. I do my best tp buy things non-Amazon. Nobody likes chaos. The midterms are right around the corner.

Thanks Jim for leaving the light on at the end of the tunnel at this dreary moment in our history.
I'm guessing you're tuned into Heather Cox Richardson, historian. She helps me understand today's happenings in their historical context.
This wonderful! Nicely done. Congratulations and keep up the great work.
Thanks for giving the lowdown. Always. Just wish Molly was here…
Thanks for all ya'll do.. I still have some prints laying around ,pick them up occasionally, read them ..
I still buy newspapers, I like the feel of them ,smell of them, the look of them.
I also still get newspapers! Nothing like it.
I still buy newspapers too, but only for the crossword puzzles. The rest of the newspaper immediately goes into the recycling bin.

Thanks Jim & staff for everything you do to give your audience another prospective on many subjects especially POTUS and DOGE devastating 2025 agenda.
Thanks, Jm, for standing up!

Miss the print edition, but continuing the work is critical, therefore, congratulations on reaching 50k subscribers! Wishes for continued success!!!
