This is a good news story. I live in Portland, Oregon. After the 2020 census, the state got an additional seat in the House of Representatives, district lines were withdrawn, and I got moved to the newly created District 5. This is a big district and includes a mix of urban and rural areas. The first election for the district in 2022 was won by a Republican, but after the 2024 election, it's in Democratic hands. The six member Oregon delegation to the House of Representative is now one Republican man and five Democrats, all women.

So I just told people to be sure to vote. That was the second and last time I interacted with the local Democrats. The first time was just as bad. As a former registered republician, that doesn't bode well.

'"l'm not looking beyond that" she said. I encouraged her to contact her Government Officials and encourage them to finish the job and pass HR 6747 to save our Federal Lands from the destruction that is Hydraulic Fracturing and to oppose Senator Manchin's 'Energy

Permitting Reform Act of 2024' She thanked me.
