When you consider that all 6 conservatives either committed perjury or avoided stating their true positions on Roe, and that 2 of the justices are non-convicted sexual harassers, why should anyone be surprised with their rulings?

No one with any business sense would pay a bribe to a crooked, GOPer pol (pardon the redundancy) before he performed. Note that Big Oil did NOT hop on the orange-utan's offer to sell his soul to them for a $ billion. What? Buy a pig in poke from a con artist who promises everything and delivers nothing, who has a history of selling phony college degrees, hanging subcontractors out to dry, stiffing his attorneys, cheating on his wives, and generally leaving everyone he contacts holding the bag -- a very smelly bag.

The fossils who run fossil fuel industries will find quieter ways to help TFG than making a splash about agreeing to the offer. This would be one thing he'd actually deliver (plus tax cuts).

Agreed. For example, they will keep oil prices high, which in turn fuels inflation -- a major campaign issue.

These outstanding, supreme judges did not pervert the meaning of bribery, they gave new meaning to an old practice, clothing their hypocrisy in highfalutin' legalese. As Antoinette pointed out, every one of them has dirt on their hands. An earlier suggestion (Biden using his presidential power to appoint more judges for balance) still seems like the best at this time, since any people-driven movement for change may take time - the one thing we don't have, as things have gone so far in a relatively short time. Let's get started, though, and meanwhile hope and pray that the GLOAT (greatest liar of all time) does not get elected again, and that Joe will take action while he can.

Oh come on. You don’t “tip” a public official for doing their job. You’re tainting the public service by giving them large sums of money either before or after the public servant grants a service in your favor.

I work for a public school district, and NO WAY can we receive gifts from vendors - the only exception spelled out is if they provide a meal along with a professional continuing education event.

Maybe something small is allowed, valued at less than $50, but that might have been eliminated. Our small group used to receive huge boxes of chocolates to share, annually, but the vendors stopped it.

NO NO NO, Justice Kavanaugh, there’s a reason why there are or should be limitations on this. Especially for public servants like you.

Direct strike with "kindergarten-level ethics." It would be comical in a movie. Get ready for less merit and more oligarchy.

The 6 have given up their power to be trusted to rule on anything. They have moved solidly into the realm of CRIMINALS! The 6 foxes are in the hen house and killing all the chickens (Americans rights and freedoms and liberty) and giving all the spoils to the wealthy and those that have bought and paid for them. They are now paying back their owners.....and it is only going to get worse if they are allowed to stay in their corrupt positions........... Trump and Project 2025 are on the way and they are licking their chops on their ability to rule on these........FREEDOM or this court, there is no in between!

Well, this is openly honest. Bless their hearts.

No, not "honest" as anyone with a sense of fairness or morals would define it, but as out there for everyone to see. The truth of how neolib corporate economics and its subsidiary political system actually operate. How the judiciary and legal precedents are constructed. Not much different than when plantation owners and Robber Barons were the econ powers.

A de facto one dollar, one vote. We each have all the political representation and personal "freedom" we can afford to buy. This philosophy isn't about abstract values; there's only value--$$$. Don't believe that? To the econopaths, you're just naive, therefore irrelevant.

Expanding the court won't happen because: 1.) no $$$ motivator for elected officials. 2.) it's not a huge popular issue. 3.) FDR, whose popular alt. econ policies actually worked (but later D party abandoned,) tried it. That "court packing" scheme failed at a time far more favorable then now.

From where I'm sitting, it appears that many of the American people are willing to sacrifice our hard-won Democracy for a dictatorship. Why? What ARE students being taught in our schools these days? I'm a senior citizen and I often find myself wondering if I should emigrate to a more friendly country. This is not good. We're violent, ignorant, bullying, and uncaring. I hope this turns around soon. I don't like what I'm thinking. But I am praying for God's Peace daily for our country and our world. We call ourselves a Christian Nation. It's past time we started treating each other like one. Blessings, peace, and love to you.
