Not the least surprised, considering the push by many Republicans to "modify" child labor laws so that young children can work at dangerous occupations. Meat-packing plants, anyone?

This program is absolutely sickening and obscene. This is nothing more than an Indoctrination camp. Five year olds ??? I have a five year old granddaughter living with my wife and I and she is smart and precocious for her age but no way would even begin to understand the operation of a fast food chain. What I see is the children given a tee shirt and a Christian Bible and being taught the faith.

This is what happens when Christianity runs off the rails and blasts through norms and standards.

This is why the GOP wants to kill public schools. If you can't afford private schools even with a voucher and are unable to home school, your kids will be enslaved into menial jobs. White kids, black kids, all kinds of kids.

What we are seeing is hyper-capitalism's desperate maneuvers to maintain 20% profit growth rates. In corporate USA, its ALWAYS about the profit rate. Democracy for the people or super profits for the rich -that's the choice we face today.

I want to say, "unbelievable" but sadly, I believe it. When I was about 5 years old the ranch owners where my dad and older siblings worked harvesting whatever was in season, "let" the little kids "help out." It was hot, dusty, gross outhouse /bathroom with no toilet paper, and the work day was 12 hours long. I'm 75 years old now, but the memory remains.

Excellent analysis, Jim. Can we just focus on learning the basics through playing normal kid games? This is unhealthy.

Speaking of Christianity, there's a great article in a recent issue of Commonweal on how advertising and the corporate establishment have engineered disrupting the human connection with community for their own benefits and profits. It's a powerful disease agent in the epidemic of loneliness in American society. Important reminder: not all christianity has bought into the radical right wing cult. It's just that they're noisier, tinnier than the rest of us. Go Jim H. !!

take a big breath, nothing to worry about, by the time those kids grow up those jobs will be done by artificial intelligence and the grown-up kids will be playing on the beach waiting to be organ donors for the elite

CHICK-FIL-A is a devout Christian organization. Surely they have only the children’s best interest at heart.

I am not religious, but I keep hoping there's a special place in Hell for such Christian hypocrites who force their dogma on everyone, but lack all human compassion.

I give chick fil-a alot of credit for not being open on Sunday but these kids should be getting paid. Chick fil a must have donated a lot of money to a republican to change child labor laws, they must have noticed 5 year olds do a better job. There is something wrong with corporations making u.s. laws thank you heritage foundation.

After I thought about it those kids should be at a real summer camp and what kind of parent would pay to train a 5 year old to work at chick fil,a.
