Why Can’t Ill Seniors Get Even a Scrap of Dignity from Congress?

Listen now (2 min) | What’s wrong with us? Our nation’s moral compass, I mean. I don’t like being a downer, just focusing on wrongs, but some wrongs stand out as morally abominable, such as this one. It’s about hundreds of thousands of our low-income elders who, toward the end of life (when frail and most vulnerable) find themselves cast into a part of the Medicaid system that has been deliberately structured by Congress to subject them to needless deprivations and daily indignities.
Jim, UNTIL seniors realize that by voting for these EEJIT republiKKKans, they are biting their noses OFF to spite the "woke" (whatever THAT means) crowd .... NOTHING will change - anytime SOON!! I'll be 68 next month, am a USAF veteran and have NEVER voted for a republiKKKan!!!
My mother was "nursing-homed" by my brother and I --We evacuated her from an impending Florida system (her time there was decidedly over) mainly because of quality care and the longest of waiting lines... found a decent place in Rhode Island-right around the corner from my brother who really took over. Her monthly $30 was her little independent happiness as you do touch upon. 88 years of life was more than most. Brother and I always chipped in to enlarge her belittling "entitlement!"
When senility called and called, we didn't want to believe some money "got lost." Other folks I guess needed help and that is the way of this world. Moral? Brothers not State dollars, and the Staff remains underpaid but by then her allotment was ended due to her deteriorating. I'm the senior now and all will hopefully get there. Elected Ones: Vote with your heart.
