Elites, Davos and otherwise, have always been with us. What changes the world for the better or worse for "regular folks" is what they focus their talents, influence, and resources on. At one time in the US, wealthy elites focused on founding colleges, libraries, institutions that educated "regular folks" and their communities. Now, not so much.
