Musk is also doing this in South Texas at his SpaceX site on the Rio Grande! He just got permitted by TCEQ to dump waste water into South Bay of the Laguna Madre. He bought out all of the residents of an unincorporated town and has purchased streets from Cameron County. His rocket activities very frequently close the only road leading to the public Boca Chica Beach, denying the public of its Texas Constitutional right of access to the beach through Section 33(B):The public has an unrestricted right to use and a right of ingress to and egress from a public beach.
There's been a lot of talk about the waste water issue on my corner of the Nextdoor app. For whatever reason, Musk has a ton of apologists who are insisting that everything will be OK because they his is -treated- waste water, and he's actually doing the ecosystem a favor because the water he puts in will be cleaner than the water already in there! 🙄 Does anyone know a good resource to learn what the truth is? Everything I've been able to find so far is slanted one way or the other. I just have a gut feeling not to trust Elon, but I don't want to argue with my gut... even if it does have more nerve endings than anywhere else in my body (or so my gut and Colbert tell me). 😉
Musk certainly should be scrutinized microscopically, chided and ridiculed often. It is, as Amira Hass pointed out "the responsibility of of the journalist to monitor the centers of power". Everyone has bias which is why we don't need "objective" journalism. We need journalists that subject all points of view to the same scrutiny, not the tribalistic side-taking so prevalent today. After all over 100 years ago Upton Sinclair correctly noted that "Democrats and Republicans are two wings of the same bird of prey". Hightower has become more tribal lately based on the 30 years I've been reading him and listening to the Chat N' Chew starting back at KMNR in Tucson back in 1994. This is a time we need the humor, wisdom and wit of Hightower taking ALL the bastards to task!
When someone/ANYONE promises you a "UTOPIA," do an ABOUT face and RUN for the HILLS as fast as you are able to!!! The CHIEF TWITT is NOT getting any sympathy from ME!! The "Republic" of TexAZZ is getting a whole LOAD of nothing but KUHSCHEISSE from Muskie-boi!! I'm glad that after finishing Basic and Tech School at Lackland AFB, I have NEVER had the "pleasure" to retuning there!! Same goes for FloriDUHH!!! And DON'T get me started on Indiana!!!
